SPSS Course Outline

Introduction to Spss

  • Designed to provide an intensive introduction to IBM SPSS Statistics;Combines lecture and hands-on practice sessions and involves an analysis of a large data set;
  • Statistical Package for Social Science, is a powerful Windows based program can be used to perform data entry and analysis and to create table and graphs;
  • Capable of handling large amounts of data and commonly used in the social science as well as in the business context.
  • Also the most significant part of quantitative research
Learning objectives
By the end of all the courses, the participants will have enough competence and capacity to analyze descriptive and statistical data analysis by using SPSS software.
  1. To introduce and enable students understand the basic concept of statistic and SPSS
  2. To guide students on how to perform SPSS application effectively
  3. To train on how to interpret the findings from SPSS application.
Learning points
  1. Concept of SPSS – Statistical Package for Social Science
  2. Data entry and data cleaning
  3. Descriptive statistic analysis (Central tendency, Min, Max, SD,.etc.)
  4. Cross tabulation
  5. T-test (One sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and paired sample t-test)
  6. F-test or ANOVA
  7. Chi-square
  8. Correlation and linear regression
  9. Data presentation and interpretation
